We are proud to announce that our cidery & production facilities received organic certification in 2021, allowing us to launch some small batch, organic ciders within our range – the first into 750ml bottles is our Kingston Black cider.
Each year Daylesford Cider reserve some specific cider apple varieties in order to create unique limited edition ciders. In 2020 we had an abundance of Kingston Black apples in our organic orchard, which are a well known bitter-sharp variety. This batch has minimal intervention from the start, leaving the juice to ferment using the wild yeast strains already present, and left to age in oak barrel for over a year. This is the second time we have used this method and are thrilled with the results.
We feel this is one of our best ciders, and at 84 points, it was only 1 mark off a Silver… but a gold in our eyes!
