This single varietal cider is made from just the one heritage apple variety, the Bulmers Norman cider apple. The Bulmers name has a long-standing association with cider production, dating back to the 19th century in Herefordshire, England.
Over the past 10 years we have really established ourselves in the Australian cider market, particularly in the space of traditionally made ciders. Our cider maker Mackie has a great passion for exploring what each heritage cider apple can create when transformed into cider. Experimenting with different yeasts, fermenting methodsstyles and lengths are all important too.
The Bulmers Norman apple is one of his favourites to work with. It is classified as a bittersweet variety and known for its rich and complex flavours. It typically offers a well-balanced taste profile with a pleasant combination of fruity sweetness and tannic astringency. We think it makes for a very satisfying drinking experience!
This dry cider has the added benefit, and complexity, of being aged with oak. This greatly enhances the astringent experience, adds complexity to the drink and makes for a delicious lasting flavour in your mouth.
Have you considered matching cider with dinner? Swap this cider in place of your usual light red wine at dinner. It is equally wonderful on its own, served around 5’c.
Our Bulmers Norman cider is a fantastic example of a traditional, medium cider, the category in which it won gold.
Do you want to explore a greater range of our traditional cider styles? Our Traditional Cider Box is currently on offer, so what better opportunity to explore what we do best.
