Is Daylesford Cider hiring staff?

Are Daylesford Ciders gluten free?

We make cider the traditional way, using only fresh pressed apples, so there is no gluten in our apple ciders.

What types of apples do you use for your cider?

We only use the highest quality fruit in our ciders. Onsite we grow 17 varieties of well regarded English-heritage varieties as well as 2 French varieties, which we grow organically.
We also have access to other Victorian orchards, where other heritage and table fruit varieties are grown.
Our orchards have been ACO certified (Australian Certified Organic) since 2013.

What times are Daylesford Cider open?

We are one of few venues in our area that are open 7 days a week. Join us from 10am for cider tastings and drinks, and from 11:15am for lunch – reservations.
Like most small businesses, we have a short break over Christmas, and other days you may find us closed when the venue is hired for a private event or weddings. Online reservations are unavailable on those days, however if you’re unsure, just give us a call.

Does Daylesford Cider open on Public Holidays?

Yes, we are usually open on public holidays, with the exception of our Christmas closure. If we are closed, the unavailability will show online and you will not be able to book. Please note on Good Friday and Anzac Day we open from 12pm. 

Please note a 15% surcharge applies to all in-house food and drinks on all days public holiday penalty rates apply to wages.

Does Daylesford Cider apply surcharges on their bills?

A 10% surcharge applies on Sundays.

What can we eat at Daylesford Cider?

We serve a great range of food items, suitable for both kids and adults, which also accommodate a range of dietary preferences. Here’s our sample lunch menu.
Our daily lunch menu showcases home-made items and local ingredients, with the focus on relaxed, shared dining.
There’s always gluten free, vegan and dairy free dishes, and we’re happy to accommodate other dietary requirements – just make a note during your booking.

Are we allowed dogs at Daylesford Cider?

Yes, we are a pet friendly venue! Please book either our marquee covered Courtyard or al fresco Terrace. As part of our ‘pooch policy’ we just ask that you always have your dog on a leash and by your side, and do not allow them on the furniture – thank you.

Do you host private functions?

Yes we do. We are very lucky to have a couple of larger spaces that can be hired out for private functions and large group bookings. We have two indoor dining rooms and a large courtyard outdoors which is covered by a marquee.

Do you host weddings?

Yes we do! We have the perfect back drop for your wedding and conveniently located only 5 minutes from Daylesford and it’s range of accomodation options.  
We tailor our wedding packages to suit the couple, however our focus is to deliver relaxed and intimate weddings.

Yes – we are lucky to have the capacity to hold wakes of all sizes, full catering & inclusive drinks packages if desired. 

Is Daylesford Cider suitable for children?

Absolutely! Daylesford Cider is a family-friendly venue, suitable for guests of all ages. We offer a children’s menu, plenty of open outdoor space to explore before or after your meal, and a relaxed country setting that’s ideal for families. We also have high chairs available and a range of non-alcoholic drinks for kids and designated drivers. For everyone’s enjoyment and safety, we simply ask that children remain seated during lunch service and save their adventures for our gardens before or after dining.

Where do you make the cider?

Our cider making shed is on our adjoining property, kitted out with a double belt press, stainless steel tanks, oak barrels, carbonating tanks, pipes, pumps and so much more! You can experience behind-the-scenes action through one of our tours. Contact us to find out more. [email protected]

How long have you been making cider?

The cidery was built and orchards planted in 2003, and current owners Clare and Jon Mackie have been making cider and growing the business since 2015.

Do you offer cider tours?

Yes we offer private tours suitable for couples through to larger groups as well as corporate events. 
Tours can be booked year-round, however due to the nature of being a fully operating cider farm, we suggest booking well in advance to check our availability.  A tour is a great way to start your visit and concludes with a cider tasting workshop. Where can we buy Daylesford Cider?

Our online store offers the best experience for purchasing our cider. Not only does it allow you to mix n match a wide range of styles and sizes, it also has ready to go mixed packs, and we post nationally.
We are also stocked in bottle shops, cafes and restaurants both locally, regionally and select Melbourne stockists. However please be mindful that their selection of Daylesford Cider is often limited, and sometimes only seasonal, so best you contact them directly to check first.

Do you add sulphites?

The natural process of the cider formation produces natural sulphites. We add small amount of sulphites/preservatives, but all of our ciders have a very low detection across the board. 

Are Daylesford Ciders vegan?

We make our ciders as authentically as possible, not adding in nasties, or anything unnecessarily. Our ciders are made from fermented fresh juice, and are naturally vegan. However our Spiced Cider has the addition of local Daylesford honey, and therefore is not vegan.

How do we get to Daylesford Cider?

Our venue is a 5 minute drive from Daylesford, along easy bichumen roads through beautiful countryside. Here’s directions.

What time does Daylesford Cider close?

Our venue closes at 5pm 7 days a week, unless advertised otherwise, such as our Twilight music sessions held during the warmer months.
Our kitchen serves lunch until 3:30pm, and last drinks orders are at 4:40pm.
