FAQ

Are you hiring?

We are currently searching for an engaging guy or gal to be our Market Stall Manager. We attend 3 different weekend markets, so availability on both Saturday & Sunday is essential. You will need an RSA & a full drivers licence (you will drive our car). Other than having great customer service & being happy to work autonomously, this role suits someone who likes to start work at 7:30am & be finished by 2:30pm.

What hours are you open?

Our cellar-door is open 7 days a week 10am-5pm for tastings & cider sales, drinks & bar snacks. Our kitchen serves lunch from 11:30am 7 days a week, offering grazing platters, cheese boards, small share plates & dessert. Our wood fired pizza menu also runs Friday to Sunday lunch, as well as public holidays / long weekends. Visit our Book Now page to secure your preferred sitting time.

Are you dog friendly?

Yes! Our Marquee Courtyard and Outdoor Terrace is dog-friendly to friendly dogs. As part of our pooch policy we just ask that you always have your dog on a leash and by your side, and do not allow them on the furniture.

Do you host weddings and functions?

Yes we do, we have several spaces on offer for functions and large group bookings including our indoor dining rooms and outdoor marquee covered courtyard.
We tailor our wedding packages to suit the couple, however our focus is to deliver relaxed and intimate weddings at our English-style tavern cellar-door surrounded by our beautiful landscaped gardens. Get in touch with us at [email protected] to start the conversation.

What types of apples do you use for your cider?

We grow 17 varietals of English-heritage cider apples in our orchards, alongside a few French varieties. Our orchards have been ACO certified (Australian Certified Organic) since 2013.  Some of our ciders are also blended with table fruit, such as Granny Smith and Pink Lady apples, which we source from local Victoria growers.

Where do you make the cider?

Our cider making shed is on our adjoining property, kitted out with a double belt press, stainless steel tanks, oak barrels, carbonating tanks, pipes, pumps and so much more! You can experience a private cider tour with Mackie the cider-maker which concludes with a private cider tasting workshop! Contact us at [email protected] for availability and pricing.

How long have you been making cider?

The cidery was built and orchards planted in 2003, and current owners Clare and Mackie have been making cider and running the business since 2015.

Do you offer cider tours?

Yes we offer private tours suitable for couples through to larger groups and corporate events. Please contact hello@daylesfordcider.com.au to receive our informative brochure & pricing.
Tours can be booked year-round, however due to the nature of being a fully operating cider farm, we suggest booking well in advance to check the cider maker’s availability.  A tour is a great way to start your visit and includes a cider tasting workshop, so why not sit down at the cellar-door after and enjoy some food before you head off to explore the rest of our fabulous region!!

Where do you stock your cider?

We are a small scale cider producer with a retail presence mainly locally and Melbourne. You can see a full list of our cider stockists here: daylesfordcider.com.au/stockists

However the broadest range of available ciders can be found in our online store: daylesfordcider.com.au/online-store

Do you add sulphites?

The natural process of the cider formation produces natural sulphites. On rare occasions we add a small amount of sulphites, but all of our ciders have a very low detection of sulphites across the board. Did you know!? There are more sulphites in a small handful of apricots than a 6 pack of cider!!

Are your ciders gluten free?

Our entire range of ciders are gluten free, our ciders are made from 100% crushed Victorian apples – nice and simple.

Are your ciders vegan?

All our ciders are vegan other than our Spiced Cider which contains local Daylesford honey.
