what we do
Here at Daylesford Cider we produce a range of ciders made using the 17 varieties of English-heritage listed apples we grow organically on the farm just outside Daylesford. The ciders we produce are also English in style, ranging from traditional ‘still’ with an almost-bone dry palate, through to lightly carbonated and sweeter styles.
It is the apple varieties we use that set our ciders apart in the Australian cider marketplace. Some of the better known apples are Kingston Black, Bulmer’s Norman, Yarlington Mill, Improved Foxwhelp and Somerset Red Streak.
It only seems fitting that our ciders are sold from an English style Tavern cellar door which offers a cosy setting in Winter and in Summer people can kick back in the courtyard and landscaped gardens.
The cellar door is open 7 days a week serving our range of ciders to drink in or take home, as well as local and regional beers, wines & soft drinks. On weekends the kitchen is open 12-3, offering a modest menu to accompany a cider or two, as well as grazing platters on Fridays. Bookings are recommended especially for groups and on weekends where we host live music and other events.
We look forward to welcoming you soon,
Mackie & Clare

what people are saying about us
“This place is fantastic. It is stunning from the outside and the ambience inside is great. The cider is beautiful. The proprietors and staff clearly take pride in what they do. The staff were amazingly friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed a beautiful, relaxed lunch by the fire enjoying our cider and staff were vigilant in ensuring customers were happy. I recommend The Cider Company to all.”
great cider! great place!
“A must for cider lovers, this little gem is only a 10min drive from Daylesford. Still and sparkling cider are both on offer. $10 will get you a tasting paddle with seven delicious samples. Enjoy outside in the sunshine or inside by the fireplace!”
“Spent the afternoon just chilling in the sun and it was perfect! We had lunch before our tasting and would recommend all of the pies.. they were all very yummy. The cider paddles are really reasonable.. they are only $10 each. The cider is a different experience as i hadn’t really had a still one before.
The grounds are very inviting with a massive lawn you can lay and chill on or tables available too. You could really spend a while there as there is bouche and massive Jenga to keep you entertained. Was a perfect afternoon spent here.”
